Pumpkin Carving

Last night after dinner, I took the kids outside to carve our pumpkin. Connor said that he was doing surgery on the pumpkin, taking out all of it's brains and replacing them with a candle. He told me that he was the surgeon and I was the nurse! PaPa Bill, Aunt Jill, and Uncle Clint would have been so proud! Lillie, on the other hand, wasn't so sure about the pumpkin's "brains"! She did put her hands in a couple of times, but that was plenty. We only had time to do Connor's pumpkin, but when we get Lillie's done, I will take pictures of the finished products.

Pumpkin Patch and More

We were so excited to have Grams and PaPa Bill visit again this past weekend. While they were here we went to a pumpkin patch about 15 minutes from our house. It was tons of fun!
Looking for the perfect pumpkin.
Kids of all ages love sand.
The divas at the farm!
Connor and PaPa Bill feeding a goat.

Everyone outside enjoying the great weather.

12 Weeks Later...

Over 12 weeks ago we ordered furniture for our front living room, which we were told would arrive in 4-6 weeks. It finally arrived this morning, and I love it! We were beginning to wonder if it was ever going to come. The crazy part is that we didn't even get what we ordered! We got the correct sofa, but we ordered a fabric chair and recieved a fabric loveseat. We ended up with a better deal since we only paid for a chair, and since delivery took way longer than promised, we got a 10% discount. Good things do come for those that wait! (These pictures are taken from the entry way. Now we just need a rug and a coffee table and we'll be set!)

Amigo Air Show

Saturday we went to the Amigo Air Show at Fort Bliss. It is the only civilian organized air show on a military base. The weather was perfect, and we all had a great time. While on base, we also got to see Nick's jobsite, which we hadn't seen yet. It was a fun day!

We parked and shuttled onto the airfield on school buses. Lillie sees school buses everyday that we take and pickup Connor from school and always asks to sit on them. She finally got to!

Connor jumping on the bungee trampoline, his favorite part of the day!

Lillie's favorite part were all the helicopters. She got on all of them, mostly without assistance!

Lillie holding her ears because the jets were really loud.

Connor holding Lillie's ears for her!

Here Connor is sitting inside the tank.

Nick and Connor are standing at the top of the jet.

Dog for a Weekend

Our friends, Cory and Emily, went out of town for the weekend, and we got to keep their wiemeranier, Ruger. The kids had so much fun with him. He is a great dog.

The Big Farewell, Almost

After much preparation, Lillie put her mas, aka pacifiers, in an envelope and mailed them to Baby Watson, or Baby Wats as she likes to call him. You might be wondering what kind of preparation went into getting rid of the ma. We found a book called Pacifiers Are Not Forever, which got many laughs at Barnes and Noble when we were looking for it, and read it many, many times. We made a special trip to the store to get the right kind of envelope to mail them off in, and we have also been talking about giving it to Baby Watson for a while. (I think I might have too much free time on my hands!!) After we put them in the mail, we went to her first Gymboree class as a reward. Yesterday was her first day without it, and she did great until it was time for bed. Finally after waking up three times before 10:00 and inconsolable crying, I caved and gave her a spear that I hidden away just in case. So, she is without it all day, except for naps and bedtime. Surprisingly it is going very well!
